Responsibilities
- Develop innovative software solutions, oversee design and troubleshooting, and tackle complex problems beyond conventional approaches.
- Lead and coach a multi-level software engineering team, promoting collaboration, innovation, and engineering excellence.
- Strategize and oversee architectural design and implementation to ensure scalable, high-quality outcomes.
- Create architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring constraints are met during development.
- Analyze large, diverse data sets to produce visualizations and reporting that inform continuous application improvements.
- Identify opportunities to automate recurring remediation tasks to enhance operational stability.
- Direct evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectures and their applicability.
- Lead communities of practice to promote awareness and adoption of new and leading-edge technologies.
- Champion enterprise-approved AI assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes, while establishing validation standards and encouraging reuse of effective patterns.
- Apply SDLC toolchain knowledge, including AI assisted development and automation, to maximize automation value.

Requirements
- Formal training or certification in Software Engineering with 5+ years of practical experience.
- Proven track record leading effective use of approved AI assisted development tools, with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling, resiliency, and security considerations; experience coaching teams on safe adoption.
- Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and maintaining operational stability.
- Full proficiency across the Software Development Life Cycle and advanced knowledge of agile practices such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
- Expertise in software disciplines such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile as applicable.
- Ability to independently solve design and functionality challenges with minimal oversight.
- Strong Java, REST, and microservices skills with experience building event-driven microservices and Kafka streaming.
- Experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and cloud environments (public or private).
- Demonstrated success in providing end-user support with solid problem-solving abilities.
