Adjunct Faculty - Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or Cybersecurity

University of Southern Mississippi is seeking part-time adjunct faculty to support the School of Computing Sciences and Computer Engineering. This open-ended pool is used to staff instruction as needs arise, with opportunities across Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, and Cybersecurity. The role involves delivering coursework in multiple delivery formats and maintaining required course documentation and student learning outcomes assessment.

Role and Context

Adjunct faculty will teach undergraduate courses within the School of Computing Sciences and Computer Engineering. Instruction may be delivered face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online. The position is part time, located onsite in Hattiesburg, MS 39406, United States (118 College Drive, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, 39406-0001).

Responsibilities

• Instruct courses in face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online formats
• Prepare and submit syllabi, grades, and other required course documentation in a timely manner
• Complete student learning outcomes assessment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a discipline related to computer science, information technology, computer engineering, or cybersecurity

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds

Technologies

• Canvas learning management system

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated success in teaching at the university level
• Experience with the Canvas learning management system
