Job Description
General Dynamics Mission Systems seeks an Advanced Space Systems Engineer in Scottsdale, AZ onsite. This role focuses on analyzing, designing, developing and testing space-based systems with emphasis on requirements management, system architecture, and verification. A sign-on bonus is available, and eligibility for TS/SCI clearance is required.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, develop and test GDMS space systems to ensure integration of software, hardware, reliability, maintainability, safety and other requirements within the total engineering effort
- Perform requirements analysis, definition and management
- Conduct functional and performance analyses
- Engage in system design and trade studies
- Lead systems integration and test (verification) and validation activities
- Define interfaces for system elements
- Formulate operational concepts and conduct mission, functional, cost-benefit and risk analyses
- Develop signal processing architecture and overall system architecture
- Address space-based systems with digital signal processing algorithms implemented in hardware and software
- For highly qualified candidates, work experience with DSP algorithm development for statistical analysis of signal parameter measurements using Detection & Estimation Theory, Random Processes Analysis, and Communications and Information Theory
- Apply MATLAB for DSP using related toolboxes
- Leverage background in Radar Processing
- Utilize DSP techniques for mitigating and processing RF effects
- Include Monte Carlo analysis in assessment workflows
- Phased Array and Beam Forming expertise
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field
- 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master’s degree plus 3 years of experience
- Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire
- U.S. citizenship is required
