Job Description

System One has an opening for an Agentic AI Engineer on a contract-to-hire basis, with the role based in Pittsburgh, PA (onsite) and coverage across additional locations including Dallas, TX and Cleveland, OH. This position focuses on building and deploying AI agents and multi-agent workflows using Azure and AWS services, with support for RAG pipelines and backend APIs.

At a high level, you will design agent capabilities from planning and memory through autonomous execution, connect them to retrieval-augmented context, and help ensure operational quality using observability and governance practices.

Role Summary

  • Contract to hire for an Agentic AI Engineer

  • Salary: USD 170 per hourly
  • Minimum experience: 2 years

Responsibilities

  • Build AI agents that support reasoning, planning, memory management, and autonomous task execution
  • Implement workflow configuration in Azure Foundry and AWS Bedrock
  • Develop prompt engineering, agent orchestration, and tool-calling mechanisms
  • Create multi-agent workflows using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, MCP Server, or Semantic Kernel
  • Design Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines for context-aware responses
  • Develop scalable backend services and APIs that support agent operations
  • Monitor agent performance, reliability, and response quality
  • Ensure responsible AI practices including security, governance, observability, and compliance
  • Collaborate with data engineers, software developers, and business teams to deliver AI-driven automation solutions

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience developing AI agent automation using Azure or AWS
  • 2+ years in software development with Agentic AI implementation experience
  • Strong ability in Azure Foundry and AWS Bedrock related agentic automation development
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Pandas
  • Good exposure to agile testing processes
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with stakeholders
