Job Description

The MIL Corporation is seeking an AI and Automation Engineer to lead intelligent automation initiatives for a federal agency, based onsite in Charleston, South Carolina. This senior analyst role centers on guiding the AI development and Innovation team while delivering scalable automation solutions that leverage Microsoft Azure AI Foundry, Palantir Foundry, and UiPath.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop AI applications using machine learning, Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR), and Large Language Models (LLM).
  • Design, build, deploy, test, and monitor Robotic Process Automation bots with Microsoft Power Automate and UiPath, emphasizing scalability, extensibility, and error-free operation.
  • Optimize and troubleshoot intelligent automations (AI+RPA) to boost performance and capabilities.
  • Manage the Microsoft Azure AI Foundry and team-specific Palantir Foundry environments.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices, the Quality Management System (QMS), and ISO 9001:2015 standards throughout the automation lifecycle.
  • Gather and analyze requirements through user groups, interviews, and regulatory research.
  • Engage with management teams, staff, bureaus, agencies, and posts to foster collaboration and effective communication channels.
  • Champion project and continuous improvement initiatives using project management techniques, lean methodology, and SMART criteria.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years of information technology professional experience as an analyst, programmer, or business/process analyst (or 7+ years with a 2-year degree, or 9+ years with no degree).
  • Experience in large, complex systems with demonstrated technical skills, task leadership, and strong communication abilities.
  • Experience analyzing automated financial management systems and senior-level experience with large financial management or accounting systems comparable in size, scope, and complexity to Department of State (DoS) systems.
  • Experience architecting and developing workflow-based solutions or functionality.
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously while also collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills with a big-picture view and attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to direct project participants, brief all levels of management on project status, and build strong professional networks.

Clearance

Must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance and be able to upgrade to a Top Secret (TS) clearance as required.

Compensation

The projected compensation range for this role is $100,000 - $115,000 per year. Final salary is determined based on qualifications, education, experience, and contractual considerations.
