About the role

As an Analytics Data Engineer supporting a Federal government client, you will design, build, and maintain data pipelines and analytics solutions using Databricks and cloud tooling to enable data-driven decision making for program outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the data solutions architect to define the data platform strategy.
  • Provide hands-on expertise across the design, development, implementation, and testing of data pipelines.
  • Help design and document a data development lifecycle to ensure consistent processes using Databricks and cloud tooling.
  • Analyze data sources, participate in requirements gathering, and offer guidance on data technology and data modeling best practices.
  • Apply knowledge of data models, relationships, lineage, and business rules to ensure solutions meet operational and business needs.
  • Build and maintain end-to-end data pipelines and Databricks-based data systems with CI/CD, driving continuous quality improvements.
  • Establish an authoritative Lakehouse within the Analytics Platform for post-award reporting and monitoring.
  • Refresh and enhance dashboards and analytics products such as program financials, risk management, and customer engagement.
  • Leverage advanced analytics including LLMs and AI to analyze unstructured program data, reduce manual review workload, support fraud detection, and inform program management decisions.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for automation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field (computer science, engineering, business analytics, information systems management, cybersecurity, or similar)
  • 6+ years of experience in a data engineer role or related position
  • Experience designing and building scalable ETL data pipelines from diverse sources
  • Proficiency with Python, PySpark, and SQL for data manipulation and cleaning
  • Experience creating automation scripts to streamline data processing tasks
  • Experience deploying, configuring, and maintaining data storage systems such as data warehouses and data lakes
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain public trust clearance or suitability

Location

Remote work, with the option to work at the client site as dictated by contract requirements. A dynamic, fully remote team environment.

Compensation

Approximate salary range: USD 100,000 – 120,000 per year.
