As a fullstack software engineer focusing on agents, you will design, build, and scale agent-driven services that combine modern AI frameworks with secure systems engineering. The role is onsite in San Francisco, CA, with a $132,000 - $240,000 yearly compensation range.
What you’ll do
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure agent-driven services and systems that autonomously accomplish tasks using modern AI frameworks.
- Develop and improve robust infrastructure and high-throughput APIs across core agent capabilities including memory, communication channels, skills, intelligent decision logic, security, and workflow management.
- Integrate agent capabilities with backend services, data stores, vector databases, search and retrieval systems, and external APIs.
- Work with product managers, AI researchers, data engineers, and UX teams to translate agent use cases into production-ready software.
- Ensure reliability through monitoring and observability for agent components, including metrics, logging, CI/CD, and fault tolerance.
- Participate in architectural design and rigorous code reviews to maintain quality and long-term maintainability.
What you bring
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 3+ years of Python in production environments.
- Experience with agentic coding, shown through daily use of tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, and similar agentic coding platforms.
- Demonstrated experience building distributed systems, microservices, or complex backend APIs supporting AI and agent workflows.
- Strong expertise integrating AI models and agent frameworks (example given: Langraph, Agent Harness, or platform-specific tooling) with vector databases and large context reasoning services.
- Understanding of agent orchestration patterns, state management, and asynchronous workflows.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and operational engineering best practices.
- Working knowledge of performance optimization, testing frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent communication and collaboration, with a mindset described as connect + challenge + own.
- Experience working on AI agents that coordinate multi-step actions, reasoning, or autonomous decision-making loops.
- Contributions to open-source agent toolkits or SDKs.
- Experience with frontend technologies (React, TypeScript) for tooling around agent management interfaces.
