Analytics Engineer Sr

The Senior Analytics Engineer role at Prime Therapeutics focuses on building and improving scalable data solutions that enable dependable reporting, analytics, and governed self-service insights. This position leads complex initiatives from design through deployment and provides technical guidance to enhance data quality and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Work with business stakeholders to define requirements, identify opportunities to improve data delivery, and determine which business processes and tasks can be automated.
• Analyze source data and relationships among data assets to produce actionable insights and decision support.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain data architectures, ELT processes, logical and physical data models, data marts, metadata repositories, and data warehouse solutions aligned with business requirements.
• Optimize data retrieval and dataset processing by developing scalable algorithms and identifying opportunities to improve data reliability, efficiency, quality, and performance.
• Contribute to and maintain the business glossary, metadata, documentation, and related resources that support shared understanding and cross-functional collaboration.
• Provide technical leadership for analytics initiatives and projects, ensuring solutions support information management, reuse, scalability, and governance; develop and test proofs of concept to validate feasibility and demonstrate business value.
• Collaborate with and cross-train data scientists, systems analysts, report developers, and other technical partners to improve solution quality, knowledge sharing, and delivery continuity.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, applied mathematics, engineering, or another IT-related field; or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience; high school diploma from an accredited school or equivalent GED.
• 5 years of experience in IT, including 3 years in data analytics engineering, plus experience in business intelligence, data warehousing, or analytics.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for work visa or residency sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• dbt certification or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience with software development and work management tools such as GitHub and Jira.
• Experience partnering with end users to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions from concept through implementation.
• Programming experience with languages such as Python and supported frameworks.
• Experience with cloud data platforms and associated technologies including Google Cloud and BigQuery.
• Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) experience.
• Experience building and maintaining data and analytics products using common business intelligence tools and cloud technologies.

Additional Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to architect, develop, and maintain scalable cloud-based data solutions.
• Strong understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling, data transformation, code operationalization, and data exploration.
• Ability to develop, maintain, review, and translate data models into reliable analytical solutions.
• Proficiency in SQL, stored procedures, ELT development, and cloud database platforms.
• Demonstrated experience delivering complex analytics engineering solutions end to end, including design, development, testing, deployment, and operational support.
• Demonstrated experience mentoring and developing junior analytics engineers through guidance on engineering practices, code quality, testing, and solution design.
• Demonstrated experience establishing and applying data engineering standards, testing practices, code review expectations, and performance optimization techniques.
• Understanding of the pharmacy benefit management and broader healthcare ecosystem.
• Knowledge of and experience with benefit planning and modeling.
• Leverage AI to create and enhance engineering deliverables.
• Reverse engineers existing codebases for migration to modern technologies.

Compensation

Potential pay for this position ranges from USD 108,000.00 to USD 184,000.00 per year, based on experience and skills.
