Application Security (AppSec) Engineer - AI Trainer
Job Description
DataAnnotation is hiring an Application Security (AppSec) Engineer - AI Trainer to support the training of AI models for cybersecurity. The role focuses on assessing AI-generated security content and creating security-focused problems that improve how AI systems reason about threats and defenses.
Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate AI-generated cybersecurity content, including threat analysis, vulnerability assessments, and offensive security techniques, ensuring real-world accuracy and validity.
- Design and solve technical security problems that are used to train AI systems.
- Produce clear technical explanations and security-relevant code.
- Provide feedback that directly influences the next generation of AI security models.
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in a cybersecurity role such as penetration testing, red teaming, incident response, detection engineering, DFIR, malware analysis, threat intelligence, or adjacent fields, including government or military cyber operations.
- Some coding experience is required, including comfort navigating and patching a codebase.
- English fluency at a native or bilingual level with strong writing skills.
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Cybersecurity certifications are a plus, including OSCP, CRTO, GREM, GCFA, CEH, and similar credentials.
