Cybersecurity Engineer - AI Trainer

AfterQuery Experts is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer - AI Trainer for a remote, asynchronous contract role based in Springfield, VA. In this position, you will help frontier AI labs strengthen how their systems reason about security by designing and assessing realistic security scenarios and the model outputs that respond to them.

You will create challenging security analysis, threat modeling, and incident response tasks grounded in production practice. You will also review model responses for correctness and reasoning quality, documenting your judgment so the resulting training data can be audited by other engineers.

What you’ll do

• Design challenging, realistic security analysis, threat modeling, and incident response tasks drawn from production practice
• Evaluate model responses for correctness, sound reasoning, and subtle failure modes
• Document your reasoning clearly so another engineer can audit the judgement

What you bring

• 2+ years of professional experience in security engineering, red team, or SOC work
• Familiarity with common attack classes, detection tooling, and remediation practice
• Ability to explain an attack path and its mitigation clearly in writing

Compensation and engagement

• USD 65 - 80 per hour, paid weekly
• Fully remote and asynchronous engagement
• Contract role
