Application Security Engineer - AI Trainer
Job Description
DataAnnotation is seeking an Application Security Engineer - AI Trainer to support the training of AI models focused on cybersecurity. This contract role combines hands-on security evaluation with technical problem solving, helping ensure AI-generated security guidance is accurate, valid, and useful.
The work centers on reviewing AI outputs related to threats, vulnerabilities, and offensive techniques, then feeding back insights that influence how the next generation of AI security model reasoning is formed.
Responsibilities
- Assess AI-generated cybersecurity content for real-world accuracy and validity, including threat analysis, vulnerability assessments, and offensive security techniques.
- Develop and solve security-focused technical problems used to train AI systems.
- Create clear technical explanations and security-relevant code.
- Provide feedback that directly contributes to improving future AI security models.
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in a cybersecurity role such as penetration testing, red teaming, incident response, detection engineering, DFIR, malware analysis, threat intelligence, or adjacent work, including government or military cyber operations.
- Some coding experience is required, with comfort navigating and patching a codebase.
- Fluency in English at native or bilingual level, with strong writing skills.
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Cybersecurity certifications are a plus, such as OSCP, CRTO, GREM, GCFA, CEH, or similar.
