DataAnnotation is hiring an Application Security Engineer - AI Trainer to help advance AI models built for cybersecurity. This contract role is fully remote, with a flexible schedule and hourly pay of $50 to $100 USD per hour through their platform. You will evaluate AI-generated security content, solve security-focused technical problems, and provide feedback that directly influences the next generation of AI security tools.
What you will do
- Review and evaluate AI-generated cybersecurity content, including threat analysis, vulnerability assessments, and offensive security techniques, with an emphasis on real-world accuracy and validity.
- Design and resolve security-focused technical problems used to train AI systems.
- Write clear technical explanations and security-relevant code.
- Provide feedback that helps shape how future AI security models are built.
What you bring
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in a cybersecurity role such as penetration testing, red teaming, incident response, detection engineering, DFIR, malware analysis, threat intelligence, or adjacent work, including government or military cyber operations.
- Some coding experience. You should feel comfortable navigating and patching a codebase.
- English fluency (native or bilingual level) with strong writing skills.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Cybersecurity certifications are a plus, such as OSCP, CRTO, GREM, GCFA, CEH, and similar.
