Building Automation Engineer
Job Description
Urbandale, IA onsite Building Automation Engineer role focused on HVAC controls design and end-to-end delivery of BAS software packages.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with designing building automation systems including control drawings, wiring diagrams, equipment schedules, and sequences of operation
- Build and deliver software packages with graphics, validated databases, and field-ready configuration
- Support submittals, installation, and commissioning activities
- Perform field verification on retrofit and complex projects to confirm design intent and resolve design questions onsite
- Coordinate with Project Managers, technicians, and third-party vendors to keep system integration running smoothly
- Troubleshoot legacy building automation systems and third-party integrations
- Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers to develop skills through live projects
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years hands-on experience in building automation and controls design/programming
- Proficiency with Tridium Niagara (AX/N4) or a comparable BAS platform
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems and how they integrate with building controls
- Ability to read blueprints and specifications; experience with CAD or Visio for documentation
- Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering, HVAC technology, or related field
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally to job sites

Salary range: USD 50,000 to 120,000 per year
