Job Description

Gray & Osborne, Inc., a Washington-based engineering firm with a long history of serving public agencies since 1935, is looking for a Civil Engineer to join the Yakima office. The role centers on project engineering and project management for municipal utility, water, wastewater, and transportation projects across Washington State, encompassing scoping, engineering reports, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and funding administration with construction management support. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement with in-office presence required three days per week after six months.

Responsibilities

  • Project engineering and/or project management for utility, water, wastewater, or transportation projects for municipalities and special purpose districts across Washington State.
  • Project scoping and preparation of engineering reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for municipal engineering projects.
  • Providing clients with funding administration and construction management support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution is required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, not required.
  • 5–20 years of experience in municipal engineering.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; proven ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.

Position Summary

We seek a motivated Civil Engineer with municipal engineering experience to join our team. The successful candidate will manage project engineering and/or project management for utility, water, wastewater, or transportation projects for municipalities and special districts across Washington State. Key duties include project scoping and preparing engineering reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for municipal engineering projects.

Pay

Salary: $90,000 - $160,000 per year

Work Location

Based in Yakima, Washington, with a hybrid work arrangement after six months requiring a minimum of three days in the office each week. This position is in person at the Yakima office (180 Iron Horse Ct).
