Cyber Security Engineer

GuruSchools is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to support daily monitoring, incident response, vulnerability work, and security control efforts on-site in Texas.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and investigate suspected threats
• Identify, analyze, and respond to security incidents
• Perform vulnerability assessments and support remediation activities
• Monitor network traffic, logs, and security events
• Use SIEM tools to detect and investigate suspicious activity
• Assist with endpoint, network, and cloud security activities
• Conduct security assessments and support compliance requirements
• Maintain security documentation and incident reports
• Collaborate with IT and development teams to implement security controls
• Stay current on emerging cybersecurity threats and security best practices

Requirements

• Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, threats, and vulnerabilities
• Experience with SIEM tools such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, or QRadar
• Knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS for network security
• Understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems
• Knowledge of vulnerability assessment and penetration testing concepts
• Familiarity with endpoint security tools
• Basic knowledge of cloud security (AWS/Azure) is preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

Role Details

• Location: Texas (onsite)
• Salary: USD 45–50 per hour
• Minimum experience: 2 years
