Cyber Security Engineer - NSS Tools
Job Description
CACI seeks a Cyber Security Engineer focused on NSS Tools and Linux systems to strengthen network defense and cybersecurity capabilities. This on-site role in St. Louis, Missouri requires a TS/SCI clearance.
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy shell scripts to automate routine system maintenance, boosting efficiency and reliability.
- Configure and manage system logging, including remote logging, to support thorough log analysis for troubleshooting and security monitoring.
- Set up and sustain networking services, including firewall configurations and SELinux policies, to ensure secure and optimized system performance.
- Configure local storage using partitions and logical volumes to meet project-specific requirements.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain systems, ensuring software installations, updates, and core services are effectively managed.
- Apply knowledge of DNS, SMTP, and DHCP and utilize network troubleshooting tools such as tcpdump, Traceroute, Ping, Netstat, and nslookup to diagnose and resolve issues.
Requirements
- Proven Linux system administration experience with a strong focus on shell scripting and system automation.
- Expertise in configuring system logging, analyzing logs for troubleshooting, and implementing secure networking services.
- Familiarity with AWS services including EC2, S3, CloudFormation, and Terraform is advantageous.
- Experience with automation tools like Ansible and version control systems such as GitHub or GitLab for script and code management.
- Proactive approach to system optimization and a continuous learning mindset to stay current with Linux systems and cybersecurity.
- Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across teams to achieve system-related goals.
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with experience on US Government contracts.
- DOD 8570 IAT II and CSSP Infrastructure Support certifications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- 7+ years of related experience in SEIM, network operations, network engineering, leading technology teams, leading operation cybersecurity teams, or a combination thereof.

Pay Range
Salary range is USD 75,200 to 158,100 per year. A variety of factors influence final compensation, including geographic location, contract labor categories and wage rates, prior experience, specific skills and certifications, education, and certifications.
