Senior Cybersecurity Engineer

Join Breeze Airways as a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to design and operate security platforms across AWS environments, with a strong focus on automation, reliability, and detection and response.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud security capabilities across AWS environments
• Own and optimize key cybersecurity platforms and security-related integrations
• Build scalable security controls using Infrastructure as Code and automation practices
• Create reliable vulnerability management workflows, including remediation tracking
• Spot repetitive security tasks and automate them
• Develop workflows, integrations, and orchestration to improve operational efficiency
• Build security tooling that supports scaling security output without scaling headcount proportionally
• Improve reliability, availability, and performance of security infrastructure
• Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, and detection capabilities
• Build security telemetry pipelines and observability solutions
• Enhance incident response processes using automation and engineering
• Conduct investigations and provide technical support for cybersecurity incident response
• Partner with infrastructure, development, and application teams to secure cloud-native workloads
• Review architecture designs and implement security best practices
• Strengthen identity, access management, and privileged access controls
• Support establishing security standards for emerging technologies and platforms
• Act as a technical leader within the cybersecurity organization
• Mentor junior engineers and help raise engineering maturity across the team
• Collaborate with platform, infrastructure, compliance, and software engineering teams
• Translate security requirements into practical engineering solutions

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in Cybersecurity, SRE, Platform Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or a related field
• Hands-on experience securing AWS environments
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
• Strong Linux administration skills
• Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, Go, or other automation-focused languages
• Experience with monitoring, observability, and logging platforms
• Experience managing incidents in production environments
• Strong networking fundamentals, including DNS, load balancing, firewalls, TLS, VPNs, and cloud networking
• Experience operating in highly available, mission-critical environments
• Authorization to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986

• Experience with advanced persistent threats, phishing and social engineering, network access controllers (NAC), gateway anti-malware, and enhanced authentication
• Familiarity with PCI-DSS or other regulated environments
• Experience supporting cloud-native applications and modern development practices
• CISSP, AWS Security Specialty, GCIH, GCIA, CISM, or similar certifications

Skills / Talents

• Proficiency in Python, C++, Java, Ruby, Node, Go, and/or PowerShell
• Knowledge of subnetting, DNS, encryption technologies and standards, VPNs, VLANs, VoIP, and other network routing methods
• High level of integrity and ethics, with discretion and confidentiality for sensitive or proprietary information
