Cybersecurity Engineer

BSG Brockman Strategy Group, LLC is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to support government cybersecurity and cyber resilience efforts through Cyber Tabletop Test and Evaluation (T&E). This role is primarily remote, with the possibility of a limited hybrid requirement of approximately one day per month onsite in Washington, D.C.

The position focuses on operational cybersecurity test and evaluation expertise, including planning, execution support, and technical analysis that strengthens confidentiality, integrity, and availability across systems and data.

Location and Work Arrangement

Responsibilities

• Provide operational cybersecurity T&E expertise across requirements review, test planning, execution, data management, and reporting, with a focus on confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and data.
• Support cyber tabletop exercises and assessments by delivering technical analysis, advisory support, and technical oversight to the government T&E Division Lead, with attention to cyber systems, industrial control systems, operational technology security, cyber tabletop exercises, CVPA testing, and adversarial assessments.
• Review acquisition requirements and test plans by evaluating Mission Needs Statements, Operational Requirements Documents, Concepts of Operations, and Test and Evaluation Master Plans, and provide recommendations on cybersecurity requirements, threat modeling, cyber resilience, security testing strategies, and applicable security controls including NIST SP 800-53.
• Coordinate program execution and cyber risk management by participating in government T&E WIPTs to define and track milestones, key events, and significant accomplishment criteria, coordinating information across organizations, and supporting identification and mitigation of cyber risks throughout the system lifecycle.
• Develop technical guidance and instruction by contributing to cyber resilience guidebooks, Letters of Assessment, and other T&E documentation, and teaching cyber resilience T&E topics in Department of Homeland Security workshops and classes.

Salary

• Annual range: USD 75,000 - 91,000 per year
• Pay: $75,000.00 - $91,000.00 per year
