Cybersecurity Engineer III

Rothe Development, Inc. is seeking a senior-level Cybersecurity Engineer to serve as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) for the NASA eMITS contract in Huntsville, AL.

Responsibilities

• Develop an in-depth understanding of how the eMITS contract information systems function and are operated.
• Apply IT expertise and IT management requirements to support responsiveness to IT reporting and IT security implementation needs.
• Guide the organization through the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process.
• Maintain awareness of organizational activities and contribute input to security and operational documentation, including:
  • IT security plans
  • Testing procedures and results
  • Standard operating procedures
  • Emergency procedures
  • Contingency plans
  • Disaster recovery plans
  • Memoranda of understanding with interfacing systems
  • User rules/procedures
  • User/program manuals
  • Risk assessment
  • Backup procedures
  • A&A processing documents and statements
  • Verification reviews and site inspections
• Support monitoring of security controls for IT systems to help maintain a continuous state of compliance with IT security regulations and requirements.
• Provide periodic reporting on regulatory compliance status, plan development and approval status, and significant issues impacting IT management and information security.

Requirements

• Experience in IT Security Plan development, auditing, assessments, and compliance with NIST standards in a DoD/NASA environment.
• Familiarity with the NASA RISCS tool.
• Ability to analytically resolve issues and determine preventative measures.
• Ability to follow NASA specifications, standards, and best practices across industry requirements.
• Strong communication skills, including both written and verbal.
• Effective customer service skills.

Compensation: USD 80,000 - 90,000 per year
