Cybersecurity Engineering Specialist III
Job Description
Cherokee Federal is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineering Specialist III to support a government customer in Springfield, VA 22150 (onsite). This role focuses on evaluating and verifying cybersecurity systems and products across their life cycle, with particular emphasis on network operations and cyber warfare tactics, techniques, and procedures that impact information networks.
The position requires an active TS/SCI clearance and involves research, performance evaluation, and formal verification to ensure compliance with government information assurance and cyber security standards and practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide feedback to design engineers by evaluating end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products throughout their life cycle.
- Conduct research and evaluate technical performance of software products, segments, and systems.
- Ensure products and systems meet requirements and government information assurance and cyber security standards and practices using formal verification methods.
- Verify and validate systems with a focus on network operations and cyber warfare tactics, techniques, and procedures targeting threat to information networks.
- Assess performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures.
- Prepare assessments and cyber threat profiles for current and planned products using sophisticated testing, research, and analysis.
- Participate in design reviews of hardware and software components to confirm applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements.
- Review test plans and procedures to ensure they verify and validate the requirements.
- Develop and maintain analytical procedures to support changing requirements.
- Produce high-quality papers, presentations, recommendations, and findings for senior US government intelligence and operations officials.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Current TS/SCI security clearance
- High School Diploma and minimum of ten (10) years of related experience
- Associate’s Degree and minimum of eight (8) years of related experience
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of six (6) years of related experience
- Master’s Degree and minimum of four (4) years of experience
- Ability to develop new concepts and processes.
- Ability to analyze root causes and resolve issues.
- Ability to support junior-level technicians and specialists.
- Ability to perform all tasks of lower-level technicians or specialists.
- Ability to work independently, participate actively on integrated teams, and lead a task, project, or team.
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation: USD 150,000 - 155,000 per year (pay commensurate with experience)
- Full time benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided
