Responsibilities

• Data management: collect and process data from diverse raw and refurbished data marts.
• Reporting and visualization: create and deploy visualizations, reports, modeling, and performance optimizations for core data products.
• Collaboration: partner with IT and business units to gather data requirements and deliver actionable insights and solutions.
• Process improvement: analyze complex IT data to identify patterns and drive policy development and process enhancements.
• Analytics and insights: present key industry insights for customers through clear analytical representations of core travel data.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Advanced knowledge of databases of multiple types, including RDBMS SQL based systems and document stores.
• Experience with a programming language used in data and analytics engineering, such as Python, R, or Scala.
• Experience and understanding of web application development and front end reactive frameworks like VueJS or React, plus familiarity with middle and back end development methodologies.
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle and source control with Git or alternatives.
• Experience with cloud providers such as Amazon AWS, Azure, or GCP and their data platforms.
• Comprehensive understanding of the data lifecycle from pipeline development to data warehousing to reporting and analytics enablement.
• Senior experience with more than one cloud based analytics platform such as Looker, Tableau or PowerBI.
• Experience building semantic models across wide datasets in scalable and efficient ways.
• Familiarity with cloud based data warehouses like Snowflake, DataBricks or Azure DataLake.
• Prior experience implementing governance and compliance frameworks for analytics data products.
• Strong diagnostic skills for query tuning and performance optimization.
• Experience building bespoke data products from the ground up that integrate analytics platforms for visuals and core functionality.
• Effective verbal and written communication to share findings with stakeholders.
• Adept at crafting queries, reports, and presenting findings.
