Data Analytics Engineer

Systems Planning and Analysis is seeking a Data Analytics Engineer to support the U.S. Army Financial Management Command (USAFMCOM) Strategic Initiatives Group (SIG). This onsite role in Indianapolis focuses on data analytics and engineering work, from requirements and solution design through testing, deployment, and ongoing support.

You will partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable analytics solutions, leveraging Databricks and Power BI to build datasets, dashboards, and reporting capabilities for mission stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements.
• Perform feasibility studies and provide recommendations for analytics solutions.
• Design scalable and maintainable analytics solutions.
• Develop technical specifications and data models.
• Extract data from source systems including DJMS and IPPS-A.
• Load data into Databricks warehouses and perform data cleaning for analysis.
• Create custom datasets for dashboard use.
• Build interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
• Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Deploy solutions to production environments and support successful implementation.
• Provide ongoing support and maintenance for deployed solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Implement enhancements and updates as needed.
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including business requirements, technical specifications, architecture diagrams, design documents, and deployment/implementation plans.
• Provide user guides and training materials for end-users.

Requirements

• Onsite position located in Indianapolis, IN; candidate must go on-site M-F.
• Active Secret security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Math, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Power Platform development (Apps, Automate, BI).
• 3+ years of experience with SQL.
• 3+ years of experience with Python.
• Experience with Databricks (Data Intelligence Platforms).
• Experience with Army Vantage.
• Experience with data cleansing, data preparation, and data translation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle delegated tasks and development.
• Experience supporting DoD stakeholders and leadership.
