Data Engineer
Job Description
Located onsite in Hudson, OH, the Data Engineer will own and evolve ELT pipelines and the Snowflake data warehouse to empower internal analytics and reporting, working closely with analysts and system administrators.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations, ongoing maintenance, and enhancements of ELT pipelines and the Snowflake data warehouse.
- Troubleshoot pipeline failures, data quality issues, and performance bottlenecks to maintain reliable data flows.
- Design, implement, and document new data models and transformations to support evolving analytical needs.
- Ensure data reliability, consistency, and availability for downstream consumers.
- Develop and extend API integration workflows using Boomi and Python.
- Maintain and contribute to custom Python applications developed by the team.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to scope and deliver new data integration initiatives.
- Contribute to evaluating modern data tooling options to improve the current architecture.
- Document systems, processes, and decisions to build institutional knowledge over time.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field is preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in a data engineering role.
- Strong SQL skills and data modeling concepts for analytical workloads.
- Practical experience with Snowflake or a comparable cloud data warehouse platform.
- Familiarity with ELT/ETL concepts and tools; ability to learn the current stack quickly.
- Experience with WhereScape RED, Matillion, Airbyte, dbt, or similar ELT automation tools.
- Working knowledge of Python for data processing and scripting.
- Experience with API integrations and REST-based data sources.
- A methodical approach to troubleshooting and the ability to dig into unfamiliar systems to identify root causes.
- Experience using GitHub for version control.
