Jason Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer III for an onsite role in Baltimore, MD. The position is focused on establishing engineering standards and best practices, mentoring teammates, and delivering cross-team architecture solutions and code reviews, while spending the majority of time on hands-on platform and data engineering.
Role Focus
This Software Engineer III role is 70% hands-on and 30% cross-team collaboration. The work includes designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud-based and data platforms, along with contributing to engineering documentation, design reviews, and ongoing improvements across teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish standards and best practices; collaborate on solutions and ensure alignment with user needs.
- Document software and system designs, drive engineering growth, and mentor engineers through technical guidance.
- Lead with engineering solutions by working with the team on new projects from discovery and initial development through implementation and deployment.
- Provide production support by improving monitoring capabilities and building automation to support platform operations.
- Implement cloud solutions using AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, RedShift, SQL Server, and RDS, translating requirements into well-architected cloud infrastructure.
- Serve as the Software Engineer for applications under the direction of the Director, Software Engineering.
- Help manage the design and development process by driving decisions and coordinating efforts with team members.
- Coordinate with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to troubleshoot software products and company software or web applications, supporting debugging and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in computer science, information systems, or engineering.
- 7+ years of experience in Platform Engineering.
- 5+ years experience with SQL and relational databases, including SQL Server.
- 3+ years experience with Redshift, AWS RDS, AWS DynamoDB, and Glue.
- 3+ years experience in Data Replication, Data Sharing, and Data Modelling, including logical and physical data sources.
- Strong knowledge and ability to work with data replication and migration tools and methods such as DMS and Glue.
- Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.
- Knowledge of data integration and ETL pipelines across the platform.
- Ability to envision and create automation for provisioning and administration tasks.
- Knowledge of Identity Access Management, such as Okta, OAuth2, and JWT.
- Knowledge of CI/CD development practices.
- Ability to collaborate across teams including Product, Operations, Infrastructure, and Engineering.

The role includes work across the following technologies: AWS, EC2, S3, Lambda, RedShift, SQL Server, RDS, SQL, AWS DynamoDB, Glue, and data replication and modeling concepts including Data Replication, Data Sharing, Data Modelling, logical data source, and physical data source using DMS. Compensation
- Annual salary range: $128,053.74 - $173,249.18
