Job Description
Mayo Clinic invites a Data Engineer to join its Rochester, Minnesota team onsite. You will design, build, and optimize data pipelines and data architecture while collaborating with cross-functional groups to translate business needs into actionable information. The role offers a competitive salary range of USD 102,300 - 143,200 per year and a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well being and professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional and non functional requirements.
- Demonstrate strong SQL skills, identifying subsets of information across multiple joins or unions, and write or troubleshoot queries for data mining.
- Conduct complex data analysis on customer requests, explain results clearly, and provide informed recommendations.
- Apply a solid understanding of data modeling concepts to solution design.
- Approach problems with initiative, performing error detection and root cause analysis to identify improvements.
- Understand ETL processes to assist with data verification and testing.
- Build processes that support data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency management, and workload planning.
- Show a track record of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets.
- Analyze business objectives and develop data solutions that meet customer needs.
- Effectively participate in multiple concurrent projects and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Improve and customize data solutions to align with functional and non functional requirements.
- Research new and existing data sources to contribute to development, enhance data management, and support data quality initiatives.
- Perform periodic data quality reviews for internal and external data sources.
- Ensure timely resolution of data queries and issues.
- Explore new methods for data collection by evaluating potential sources of information.
- Collaborate with data and analytics experts to enhance data system functionality.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or Associate's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 2 years of experience.
- Proven ability to analyze and profile data to address business problems using advanced data modeling, source system databases, or data mining techniques.
- Ability to provide consultative services to departments, divisions, or committees as needed.
- Experience applying problem-solving methodologies, planning techniques, continuous improvement methods, and analytical tools (data analysis, profiling, modeling, etc.).
- Capacity to manage a varied workload of projects with multiple priorities and stay current on healthcare trends and enterprise changes.
- Strong interpersonal and time management skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify and propose effective solutions; solid computer application skills and a commitment to customer service.
- Experience with data analysis, quality assurance, and profiling, including data exploration tools such as Rapid SQL, AQT, Information Analyzer, and Informatics.
