Data Engineer

Offutt AFB, NE (Onsite) offers an opportunity to work on national security mission-driven projects while building data pipelines and platforms that turn disparate data into usable capabilities. You will operate in a fast-paced, agile environment, collaborating across functional groups and supporting mission needs end to end. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900 to $141,000 (annualized USD).

Work model: Onsite. Work will primarily be performed full-time at a customer facility, where employees collaborate directly with colleagues and customers as required by the role.

What you’ll do

• Develop and deploy pipelines and platforms that make data meaningful
• Grow DataOps capabilities
• Support data engineering activities on mission-driven projects
• Architect data systems and stand up data platforms
• Build out ETL pipelines, write custom code, and perform data ingestion
• Build data models and conduct analytical exploration and examination of data
• Interface with data stores
• Lead the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms
• Guide clients in solving pressing technical challenges

What you’ll need

• 2+ years of experience with a programming language
• 2+ years developing data pipelines, data modeling, schema configuration, data quality, standardization techniques, data integration, and data management
• Ability to develop scripts and programs for converting various types of data into usable formats
• Ability to work in a big data environment, learn technical concepts quickly, and demonstrate solutions, standards, and best practices
• Experience communicating and collaborating with multiple functional groups, including non-technical stakeholders
• Initiative and problem-solving ability with minimal guidance, plus collaboration in a matrixed environment
• Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Development, with 2+ years of data engineering experience, or 3+ years of data engineering experience in lieu of a degree

• Experience with batch and real-time big data integration frameworks in private or public cloud environments, including AWS or Azure, and technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Impala
• Knowledge of Zero Trust and role-based data access design
• Knowledge of relational and dimensional modeling
• Ability to research emerging technologies and industry trends independently
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Master’s degree
• Amazon Certified Solutions Architect certification
