Job Description

Meta offers an onsite opportunity in Menlo Park to join a team shaping data architectures for Ranking AI within the Ads stack. You will collaborate across engineering, data science, and product groups to deliver scalable analytics solutions while upholding data security and governance. The role provides a competitive compensation package in the range of USD 177,000 - 247,000 per year, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits, plus meaningful opportunities to mentor peers and influence cross-functional initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Own and design data architecture for multiple large-scale initiatives, weighing design choices against operational costs and benefits.
  • Develop and contribute to frameworks that improve data logging effectiveness, coordinating with data infrastructure teams to triage and resolve issues.
  • Work closely with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to translate data needs into actionable insights and visually communicate key findings.
  • Establish and manage service level agreements for data sets within your ownership.
  • Define security models aligned with privacy requirements, ensure safeguards are in place, address data quality concerns, and evolve governance processes.
  • Build and deploy sophisticated data models and visualizations that support multiple use cases across products and domains.
  • Tackle challenging data integration problems using efficient ETL patterns, frameworks, and advanced query techniques across structured and unstructured sources.
  • Contribute to production processes, optimizing complex code through advanced algorithms.
  • Improve pipelines, dashboards, and frameworks to streamline development of data artifacts.
  • Influence product and cross-functional teams to uncover data opportunities with tangible impact.
  • Mentor teammates through constructive feedback and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience with SQL
  • Experience with ETL processes
  • Experience with data modeling
  • Experience with at least one programming language (for example Python, C++, C#, Scala, or others)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience applying responsible and ethical AI practices, including risk assessment, bias mitigation, and quality checks
  • Master's or PhD in a STEM field with relevant coursework or research in data systems, machine learning, or related areas
