Compensation

Salary ranges by level: Mid-Level E02 from USD 92,700 to 114,000 per year; Senior E03 from USD 122,400 to 154,000 per year. The role can be filled at either level based on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized technical guidance to develop, manage and implement engineering analyses, programs and activities
  • Offer hands-on technical expertise and consultation to diagnose and resolve equipment and system problems
  • Own end-to-end management of engineering issues
  • Execute engineering tasks assigned by supervision, applying standard engineering principles
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness of work; maintain configuration control and apply established design criteria, practices, procedures and codes in plans and specifications
  • Conduct independent research, reviews and analyses to support technical projects
  • Propose innovative concepts and techniques to improve performance, simplify operations, reduce costs, or ensure regulatory compliance
  • Support additional assignments as directed, including emergency response, outage activities and departmental coverage

Requirements

  • Mid-level (E02): Bachelor’s degree in engineering (chemical, civil/structural, electrical, industrial, mechanical or nuclear) with 2 years of nuclear or related engineering experience; maintain required unescorted access and pass medical examination/testing as applicable
  • Senior (E03): Bachelor’s degree in engineering (chemical, civil/structural, electrical, industrial, mechanical or nuclear) with 5 years of nuclear experience or related engineering experience; maintain required unescorted access and pass medical examination/testing as applicable

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration
  • Advanced degree or related coursework
  • Qualified Nuclear Engineer (QNE) qualification
  • Safety analysis experience
  • Knowledge of PWR safety analysis including initiating events and mitigating systems
  • Experience supporting NRC licensing activities, including LARs and 50.59 evaluations
  • Familiarity with modern criticality codes and RG 1.240 methodology
