Engineer, Supplier Quality Engineering

Denver, CO onsite role at Wolf Advanced Technology as an Engineer, Supplier Quality Engineering, offering USD 85,000–105,000 per year to strengthen supplier quality for aerospace and defense components.

Responsibilities

• Oversee supplier performance management through KPIs, scorecards, management-review inputs, and evaluations to meet quality, delivery, responsiveness, and compliance targets
• Lead supplier qualification activities and audits (supplier, customer, and internal) and ongoing evaluations to build capability and drive sustained improvements
• Own corrective action processes including SCARs, NCRs, CARs, MRB, containment, supplier escapes, and CAPA investigations with verification of action effectiveness
• Collaborate with Procurement to establish and verify supplier quality flowdowns, purchase order requirements, and drawing/BOM revisions to ensure contractually compliant quality
• Maintain supplier controls including inspection, testing, traceability, certification, counterfeit-parts prevention, and supplier change-notification while preventing unauthorized changes
• Develop and maintain risk-based incoming inspection plans for PCBs, PCBAs, electronic assemblies, machined parts, and supplier-provided materials, reviewing related reports, certifications, traceability, manufacturing/inspection/test plans, process controls, and AS9102 FAI documentation
• Support ASL/AVL activities, supplier approvals and certifications, alternate sourcing, supplier transitions, new product introductions, and production readiness while mitigating supplier risk and preventing unauthorized changes
• Drive continuous improvement using 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, and FMEA to resolve supplier issues, reduce defects, improve quality performance, and support RMAs and failure analyses

Requirements

• Proven supplier quality expertise including audits, assessments, qualifications, ASL/AVL maintenance, and ongoing performance management for domestic and international suppliers
• Solid knowledge of AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 QMS within aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments
• Experience leading SCARs, NCRs, CARs, CAPAs, MRBs, containment activities, and nonconforming material using 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, and FMEA
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T, inspection/test records, traceability docs, configuration-controlled documentation, certifications, and related technical documentation
• Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, AS9102 FAI, supplier qualification, supplier manufacturing/inspection/test plans, transitions, alternate sourcing, NPI, and production readiness activities
• Strong collaboration skills with suppliers, Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, program teams, customers, registrars, and certification bodies
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ERP systems, quality databases, and supplier quality reporting tools; working knowledge of configuration management, document control, ESD and calibration controls, and electronics manufacturing quality practices
• Certifications such as IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001; ASQ CQE or CSQP; AS9100 Lead Auditor; Lean Six Sigma training; familiarity with IPC-6012 and IPC-7711/7721; NADCAP special processes; and experience in aerospace/defense electronics manufacturing
