Forward Deployed AI Engineer

Boston Consulting Group’s BCG X team is seeking a Forward Deployed AI Engineer in Pittsburgh, PA to help design, build, and deploy next-generation AI solutions for clients.

Responsibilities

• Own the analytics value chain end to end: frame new business challenges, design innovative algorithms, implement and deploy scalable solutions, and support colleagues and clients in adopting AI.
• Contribute to building the next generation of AI solutions as part of a fast-growing engineering team.
• Partner with clients across BCG regions and industries, including topics such as climate change, to design, build, and deploy innovative solutions.
• Develop and deliver thought leadership in scientific communities and support publication of papers.
• Lead conferences on behalf of BCG X.

Requirements

• Apply software development practices and standards to create robust, maintainable software.
• Be actively involved across the full software development life cycle.
• Guide non-technical teams and consultants on software development best practices for robustness.
• Optimize and enhance computational efficiency through algorithm and software design.
• Be motivated by a fast-paced, service-oriented environment, with direct client interaction on features for future product releases.
• Collaborate to share software design and solution ideas.
• Serve as a problem-solver with intellectual curiosity across a breadth of industries and topics.
• Live within a reasonable commuting distance of the home office.
• Complete any degree programs (including part-time) before starting at BCG.

Compensation

Salary range: USD 120,000 - 200,000 per year.

• Forward Deployed AI Engineer I: $120,000
• Forward Deployed AI Engineer II: $155,000
• Forward Deployed AI Engineer III: $171,000
• Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer: $200,000

Additional Information

• Expected to be in the office as directed.
• Role includes an accelerated growth path and may require extended working hours at times.
• Work may require travel to client sites.
