Job Description

Geo-Technology Associates Inc. (GTA) is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to join its Geostructural Design Group in Quakertown, PA. This onsite role supports geotechnical and geostructural design efforts, with mentorship provided by experienced PE’s throughout the work.

In this position, you will contribute to practical design tasks and analysis across site and earthwork challenges, producing the calculations, documentation, and plan details needed to move projects forward.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design of segmental retaining walls.
  • Assist in the design of support of excavation systems.
  • Support engineered slope and global stability evaluations.
  • Conduct geotechnical analyses, including lateral earth pressures, slope stability, bearing capacity, and settlement.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, reports, and construction documents.
  • Develop plan details and sections using AutoCAD.
  • Participate in subsurface investigations and interpret soil data for design use.
  • Coordinate with contractors and project managers during construction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (required).
  • Actively pursuing E.I.T. certification (required).
  • Basic understanding of soil mechanics and foundation engineering.
  • Exposure to retaining wall or slope stability concepts (coursework acceptable).
  • Basic experience with AutoCAD.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
