Job Description

The Information Assurance Security Engineer provides expert information security services to a TS/SCI cleared intelligence customer in Springfield, VA, focusing on policy development, RMF coordination, incident response, and security operations. This onsite role requires IAM II certification and solid AWS cloud and security tooling experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert technical services on all aspects of information security
  • Draft information security policy documents
  • Write and review Memorandums of Agreement
  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of Certification and Accreditation
  • Advise on system design and architecture and evaluate information security systems
  • Manage multi-agency information sharing and integration security
  • Maintain affiliations with high-level personnel across agencies and organizations involved in Information Security
  • Respond to incidents and perform incident response duties
  • Approve system access and review audit logs
  • Participate in the Configuration Control Board
  • Provide daily security consultations on a wide range of issues
  • Report, document, and investigate all security incidents; assist with corrective measures

Requirements

  • TS/SCI clearance
  • IAM II certification to start (8570.1M)
  • Understanding of RMF processes and how security requirements are met
  • Knowledge of ICD 503
  • Experience with Cloud Infrastructure and AWS-based solutions
  • CISSP or equivalent certification (CAP, GSLC, CISM)
  • System administration experience
  • Network engineering experience
  • 10-15 years of related experience in data security administration
  • Experience with security tools such as ACAS, HBSS, Carbon Black, Tanium, RedSeal, EMET
  • Experience installing, hardening, deploying, documenting, and troubleshooting network perimeter security technologies
  • Unix and/or RHEL OS scripting
  • PowerShell scripting
  • Basic understanding of Windows Enterprise AD architecture and VMware virtualization
  • Proficiency with network routing and VLAN technology

Our work depends on a TS/SCI cleared Information Security Engineer joining our team to support our intelligence customer in Springfield, VA.

Position Summary

General Dynamics Information Systems (GDIT) is seeking a Security Engineer to provide expert technical services on all aspects of Information Security. Responsible for drafting information security policy and memoranda of agreement, and coordinating and managing all Certification and Accreditation activities. Advise on system design/architecture and define, design and evaluate information security systems. Manage multi-agency information sharing and integration security. Maintain affiliations with high-level personnel across agencies and organizations involved in Information Security. Tasks include incident response, system access approval, audit log review, Configuration Control Board participation, and daily security consultations. Report, document and investigate security incidents and assist with corrective measures.

Unique Additional Requirements

Knowledge of ICD 503 and familiarity with Cloud Infrastructure AWS based solutions. IAM II certification to start in accordance with DOD 8570.1M. Understanding RMF processes and how security requirements will be met.

Desired Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • CISSP certification or equivalent (CAP, GSLC, CISM)
  • System administration experience
  • Network engineering experience

System Design and Development Experience

Defines, plans, designs, and evaluates information security systems. Assesses architecture and current hardware limitations, defines and designs system specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility. Performs complex tasks in information security ranging from security component design to complex architectures. Supervises other engineers performing information security tasks.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.

Qualifications

10-15 years of related experience in data security administration.

Location

On site at the company site in Springfield, VA.

Salary and Benefits

Salary: USD 116,150 - 164,382 per year
