Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE)

Helm Point Solutions is seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to support intelligence operations through rigorous security assessment, requirements and architecture support, IA and cybersecurity solution implementation, and risk and incident/security engineering across complex environments.

Role Summary

The ISSE will perform security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and verify information assurance (IA) compliance. The role includes defining and validating system security requirements, contributing to security architecture design, implementing and integrating IA/cybersecurity solutions, and supporting risk management and security engineering activities throughout the program lifecycle. The position also supports certification and accreditation efforts aligned to NSA/CSS NISCAP, DoD RMF, and NIST RMF-related frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and ensure IA compliance.
• Define, verify, and validate system security requirements and contribute to security architecture design.
• Implement and integrate IA and cybersecurity solutions across complex technical environments.
• Support architects and developers in applying security policies and enterprise security solutions.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks across the program lifecycle.
• Apply advanced knowledge in risk management, incident handling, intrusion detection, and security engineering.
• Support certification and accreditation activities within NSA/CSS NISCAP, DoD RMF, and NIST RMF frameworks.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as an ISSE supporting contracts of similar scope and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or a related field.
• Four additional years of experience may substitute for the degree.
• DoD 8570 IASAE Level 2 compliant (for example, CISSP, CSSLP, or equivalent).

• Compensation: USD 220,000 - 265,000 per year
