Information System Security Engineer (ISSE)
Job Description
Govcio LLC seeks an Information System Security Engineer to support the 2ROPS accreditation and ongoing cybersecurity sustainment for small classified mobile systems onsite at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California, with hybrid work options; salary is USD 120,000 - 140,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement information assurance and security engineering architectures addressing business continuity, operations security, cryptography, forensics, regulatory compliance, insider threat detection and mitigation, and physical security analysis including facilities security management.
- Assess and mitigate security threats and risks across the program life cycle.
- Validate system security requirements definition and analysis.
- Establish system security designs.
- Implement security designs across hardware, software, data, and procedures.
- Verify security requirements; lead certification and accreditation planning and testing, and perform liaison activities with stakeholders.
- Support secure systems operations and maintenance.
- Collaborate with the client in the strategic design process to translate security and business requirements into technical designs.
- Configure and validate secure systems; test security products and systems to detect weaknesses; conduct network scanning and vulnerability analysis.
- Ensure the appropriate security features and safeguards are implemented on all information systems in accordance with DoD/IC policy, directives, and industry best practices.
- Install and maintain defense device systems, manage accounts and signatures, apply patches, and troubleshoot all deployed systems.
- Provide security certification testing and evaluation of assets, vulnerability management and response, security assessments, customer support, and guidance on security issues.
Requirements
- High School diploma with 9+ years (or commensurate experience)
- Clearance Required: Secret
- 5 years of experience as security engineer for hardware and software
- Linux (Red Hat/CentOS) system administration experience
- Experience configuring Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and performing scans
- Security+ Certification (or equivalent) required
