Information System Security Engineer (ISSE)

Join Lockheed Martin to support national security missions by strengthening the security of complex computing environments. This onsite Information System Security Engineer role in Elkridge, MD focuses on building and validating security designs, supporting assessment and certification activities, and helping teams mitigate risk across the program life cycle. Salary range: $135,700 - $251,900 per year.

What you’ll do

• Perform or review technical security assessments of computing environments to identify vulnerabilities, non-compliance with Information Assurance standards and regulations, and recommend mitigation strategies
• Validate and verify system security requirements definitions and analysis, then establish system security designs
• Design, develop, implement, and/or integrate Information Assurance and security systems for networking, computing, and enclave environments, including systems with multiple enclaves and differing data protection and classification requirements
• Build Information Assurance into systems deployed to operational environments
• Partner with architects and systems developers to identify and implement information security functionality that supports consistent application of agency security policy and enterprise solutions
• Contribute to security architecture work by enforcing trusted relationship design and implementation among external systems and architectures, and assessing and mitigating threats and risks throughout the program life cycle
• Support security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and risk management, including certification and awareness activities for system and networking operations
• Review certification and accreditation documentation and provide feedback on completeness and compliance

Requirements

• 14 years experience as an ISSE on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university
• DoD 8140 compliance with IASAE Level 2 certification is required
• CISSP certification required
• Four (4) years of ISSE experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree
• Current US Security Clearance with Polygraph within the last 7 years required

Pay information

Full-Time Salary Range: $135,700.00 - $251,900.00

For Washington state applicants only: Non-represented full-time employees accrue at least 10 hours per month of PTO for incidental absences and other reasons, and receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month and can accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually, and receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary year to year based on performance metrics.
