Information Systems Security Engineer

SAIC is seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to support the U.S. Space Force, Space Systems Command. This hybrid role focuses on operational maintenance and sustainment of ground-based radars, including security assessment planning, RMF-aligned remediation, and support for system assessment and authorization.

Salary

Target salary range: USD 120,001 - 160,000 per year.

Role Summary

The ISSE will plan, develop, and deliver PARCS and UEWR assessments. The position also includes designing and implementing remediation solutions to satisfy RMF controls and enclave/local policy for ground-based radar systems.

Responsibilities

• Build security architectures, integrate new architectural features into existing infrastructures, design cybersecurity architectural artifacts, and provide engineering recommendations to resolve integration and testing issues.
• Develop cyber requirements aligned to DoD 8570/8140 standards.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and compliance audits, triage and prioritize findings, design remediation approaches, and apply fixes such as configuration changes, system hardening, and patching to achieve RMF control and enclave policy compliance.
• Assess RMF artifacts and identify deviations from RMF control requirements.
• Establish program control processes that support certification testing, compliance documentation, investigations, software research, hardware introduction and release, inspections, and periodic audits for system assessment and authorization.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree
• Experience: Nine (9) or more years of related experience
• Security clearance: Active Secret clearance
• Certification: CompTIA Security+ or an equivalent IAT Level II DoD 8570 certification
• Assessment tooling: ACAS experience (Nessus / Tenable Security Center)
• RMF compliance assessment tools: Experience with Nessus/Tenable Security Center, STIG Viewer, and EvaluateSTIG

Additional Preferred Skills

• RHEL system administration and hardening experience in an on-premises environment.
• Scripting experience to support remediation and configuration tasks (e.g., Bash, Python).
• Experience supporting assessment and authorization (A&A) of DoD systems.
• Experience with enclave and network security within classified environments.
