Job Description

The Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) supports engineering teams by performing technical security assessments of computing environments, identifying vulnerabilities and non-compliance with established Information Assurance (IA) standards, and recommending mitigation strategies across enclave-based systems.

Role Overview

The ISSE performs technical security assessments of computing environments to identify points of vulnerability and non-compliance with IA standards and regulations. The role also recommends mitigation strategies and contributes to secure design and IA architecture integration, including risk analysis and system or network design across enclave environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a security engineering representative on engineering teams involved in the design, development, implementation, and/or integration of secure networking, computing, and enclave environments
  • Serve as a security engineering representative for the design, development, implementation, and/or integration of IA architecture, systems, or system components
  • Act as the primary security engineering representative for the design, development, implementation, evaluation, and/or integration of security networking, computing, and enclave environments
  • Apply knowledge of AI policy, procedures, and workforce structure to design, develop, and implement secure networking, computing, and enclave environments
  • Coordinate with customers and other project team members
  • Act as the primary security engineering representative on engineering teams for the design, development, implementation, evaluation, and/or integration of IA architectures, systems, or system components
  • Support the Government in enforcing trusted relationships among external systems and architectures
  • Support security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and risk management
  • Identify overall security requirements for proper handling of Government data
  • Perform system or network designs that span multiple enclaves, including enclaves with differing data protection and classification requirements
  • Recommend system-level solutions to resolve security requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Twelve (12) years’ experience as an ISSE on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity, including recent experience within the last five (5) years with cybersecurity principles and technology: Access/control; Authorization, identification and authentication; PKI; Network and enterprise security architecture
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited college or university
  • In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, five (5) additional years of ISSE experience
  • IAM Level I Certification required
  • TS/SCI Poly required

Compensation

Salary range for this position is USD 120,800 - 265,800 per year.
