Jr. AI Engineer

Ambe Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Jr. AI Engineer to join its data science and machine learning team working on machine learning models for data-driven decision-making. This onsite role in Salt Lake City supports the end-to-end workflow, from model development and training to deployment, evaluation, and ongoing improvement across cloud and big data platforms.

Role overview

You will assist with designing and implementing machine learning solutions, supporting model lifecycle activities, and collaborating with data engineers on data pipelines and database systems. Work includes predictive modeling, statistical analysis, and natural language processing using generative AI techniques, with deployment support on cloud platforms such as AWS.

Responsibilities

• Help design and implement machine learning models using frameworks such as TensorFlow and other AI tools for predictive modeling and analysis.
• Support model training, evaluation, and deployment workflows to maintain high performance and scalability across cloud platforms including AWS.
• Collaborate with data engineers on ETL pipelines, manage SQL databases, and optimize big data systems using Hadoop and Spark (and related technologies).
• Conduct statistical analysis for research using R or SAS to extract insights from complex datasets.
• Contribute to NLP initiatives by developing algorithms that interpret and generate human language using generative AI techniques.
• Assist with designing database schemas and linked data architectures to enable efficient data mining and analytics workflows.
• Participate in model evaluation using statistical modeling techniques, validation procedures, and performance metrics to support accuracy and reliability.

Requirements

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C, or Bash (Unix shell) for AI development and automation.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks including TensorFlow, Spark MLlib, or similar tools for building scalable AI models.
• Knowledge of cloud-based machine learning services, including AWS or comparable providers, for model deployment and management.
• Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark, along with data mining techniques for large-scale analytics.
• Strong understanding of statistical analysis tools including R or SAS for research-driven insights and model validation.
• Ability to design efficient SQL databases and run complex SQL queries for retrieval and analysis.
• Exposure to NLP, generative AI models, or quantum engineering is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on scalability, model evaluation, and continuous improvement of AI systems.
