Machine Learning Engineer

The Machine Learning Engineer will build and deploy AI agents, integrate models and workflows, and ensure AI systems remain transparent, fair, and secure while delivering real-world impact.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy AI agents to automate labor intensive workflows and empower the human workforce to unlock new capabilities.
• Support research, development, and customer-facing objectives to accelerate the transition of applied research into contract impact.
• Build software for AI agent communication, connecting models and agents to external services via APIs, conducting testing and debugging, deploying to target environments, setting up monitoring, and ensuring reliable agentic AI execution.
• Leverage a mix of open source models, agentic tools, and large proprietary models.
• Design novel approaches to securing agentic workflows and evaluating accuracy, performance, and impact.
• Maintain adherence to ethical guidelines, transparency, and fairness in AI systems.
• Demonstrate solid hands-on experience with generative AI models, including prompt engineering, chain-of-thought reasoning, and NLP tasks such as entity extraction, summarization, and semantic search.

Requirements

• Active U.S. Government Security Clearance at the TS/SCI level with CI polygraph.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Familiarity with JavaScript and containerization (Docker, Rocky Linux).
• Experience developing and managing API endpoints (REST and FastAPI).
• Experience building agentic AI workflows and systems.
• Knowledge of Langchain, LangGraph, OpenAI Agents, and Pydontic.
• Familiarity with UVicorn (web server) and Streamlit (web apps).
