Job Description

Build production-grade machine learning systems at massive scale while working on end-to-end delivery. This onsite role in Bellevue, WA pairs model engineering with durable software practices, so your work moves from prototype to reliable production services. You will design data pipelines and feature engineering workflows, monitor model performance, and help strengthen operational processes across the full software development lifecycle.

What you’ll do

  • Design, develop, and maintain ML data pipelines and feature engineering workflows
  • Design and implement software solutions across major components, balancing functional requirements with scalability, performance, and security considerations
  • Collaborate with Applied Scientists and Data Scientists to translate research prototypes into production systems
  • Monitor model performance in production and implement retraining strategies
  • Contribute across the full SDLC, including product definition, scoping, design, code review, testing, deployment, and operational support, and coach teammates on writing high-quality, maintainable code
  • Identify root causes of operational issues and drive permanent fixes to improve software reliability and team operating practices
  • Collaborate with customers, stakeholders, and cross-functional peers to understand business context and deliver the right customer value
  • Evaluate new technical approaches and tools, including generative AI capabilities, and recommend adoption when they improve productivity and solution quality

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) for new and existing systems
  • 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
  • 1+ years designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl

A day in the life

You may begin by reviewing a design document for a feature you are leading, then move into a code review focused on constructive feedback. After a quick sync with product partners to clarify requirements, you spend focused time writing and testing code. Later, you might investigate an operational metric that looks off, trace it to a root cause, and start implementing a fix. Throughout the day, you mentor newer engineers and help shape decisions that influence how your team’s software evolves.

Salary range: USD 143,700 - 194,400 per year.
