Machine Learning Engineer, Data & Machine Learning (DML)

The role focuses on designing, implementing, and scaling AI and machine learning solutions for customer use cases within AWS Professional Services. The engineer will work with stakeholders to ensure AI initiatives align with business goals and deliver measurable impact. U.S. citizenship and an active Top Secret/TS-SCI security clearance are required, with the position based onsite in Arlington, VA.

Compensation

Annual salary range: USD 131,300 to 177,600

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy scalable, secure AI and ML solutions on AWS, selecting and fine-tuning models to fit customer use cases.
• Develop and operationalize machine learning and generative AI applications that address practical business problems, conducting experiments and optimizing performance at scale.
• Work with customer stakeholders to identify high value AI opportunities, gather requirements, and propose effective implementation strategies.
• Provide technical guidance on responsible and cost efficient AI usage, troubleshoot during delivery, and ensure adherence to best practices.
• Act as a trusted advisor on the latest AI/ML advancements and emerging technologies, leveraging diverse data sources for business impact.
• Share knowledge within the team through mentoring, training, and creation of reusable AI/ML artifacts, while evaluating new technologies for feasibility.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in machine learning or statistical modeling, with data analysis tools and techniques, plus professional software engineering practices across the full SDLC
• Current, active U.S. government security clearance of Top Secret or higher
