Machine Learning Engineer Technical Fellow

Responsibilities

• Identify, architect, and drive innovative machine learning solutions across the Indeed platform, spanning multiple teams and domains
• Partner with cross functional teams to clarify requirements and plan large scale initiatives
• Collaborate with senior leadership to shape long term technical strategy
• Guide and influence engineers at all levels to deliver impactful initiatives
• Mentor and support the growth of machine learning engineers and emerging engineering leaders
• Propose and oversee efforts that improve efficiency and productivity within the machine learning organization
• Contribute hands on when needed by writing code and sharing ML engineering best practices across the company

Requirements

• PhD with at least 8 years of relevant experience, or Master’s with 12+ years, or Bachelor’s with 15+ years
• Experience guiding large, complex organizations through influence and delivering predictable results
• Proven ability to translate product direction into machine learning architecture and strategy
• Effective and inclusive communication, both written and verbal, across diverse audiences
• Backend development experience in Java, C, C++, or Go; ML model development with TensorFlow, PyTorch, SageMaker, or equivalent; data analytics in Python or R
• Experience with SQL based platforms such as Presto, AWS Athena, Postgres, BiqQuery, or equivalents

Salary Range Transparency

• Tier 1 United States: 227,000 - 341,000 USD per year
• Tier 2 United States: 253,000 - 379,000 USD per year
• Tier 3 United States: 278,000 - 416,000 USD per year
• Tier 4 United States: N/A
• Tier 5 United States: 316,000 - 474,000 USD per year

The listed range reflects the minimum and maximum compensation for the role. Offers are typically within the range minimum and midpoint, and actual compensation is determined by skills, experience, and interview performance. Day to Day

• Provide technical leadership to accelerate improvements across core search and recommendations platforms
• Collaborate with product managers, software engineers, user experience specialists, and fellow ML engineers
• Contribute across retrieval, ranking, metadata, resume handling, and ML platform teams
• Shape the next generation of AI first matching by driving transformative innovations in generative retrieval and extreme multi label classification
• Apply hands on expertise as needed and share best practices across the ML organization
