Job Description

Join Honda Dev. and Mfg. of Am., LLC in Lincoln, AL to lead manufacturing technical activities that support Mass Production, Business Plan, and New Model outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively upstream and downstream across all organizational levels to maintain shared understanding and direction.
  • Review daily report(s) to spot safety, quality, and delivery gaps; develop countermeasures and opportunities for root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Apply data analysis and PDCA to develop, justify, and support solutions with related groups/departments to resolve complex manufacturing problems.
  • Monitor and manage equipment and processes to sustain optimal manufacturing performance while minimizing operating expense.
  • Support capability growth for self, colleagues, and team through training, mentoring, and sharing technical experience.
  • Set priorities and make decisions using data analytics to achieve business objectives.
  • Manage project implementation, including schedule, budget, and resource allocations to meet targets.
  • Test, evaluate, and implement new technology to improve overall equipment and process efficiency.
  • Develop and manage investment and expense budgets to achieve overall cost targets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with relevant experience (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Electrical, etc.) and interest in manufacturing.
  • 0-6 years of experience based on education; manufacturing co-op experience preferred but not required.
  • Computer literate to support industry-standard software applications.
  • Positive attitude, open minded mindset, and team player approach.
  • Strong self-motivation and desire to work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Self-managed approach with ability to provide and set direction for others.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to multitask and solve complex problems through analysis, proposing and implementing countermeasures based on timing, quality, and cost.
  • Strong technical analysis and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to manage projects.

Working Conditions

  • Production environment requiring PPE and lockout during manufacturing operations.
  • Manufacturing setting with potential exposure to hydraulic oils, cutting lubricants, and ferrous and aluminum materials.
  • Hands-on investigation and troubleshooting within equipment to drive improvement activity.
  • Work may include hand/power tools, automation equipment, quality gauging, and instrumentation.
  • 50% office environment / 50% manufacturing lineside activity.
  • Overtime of 10-15 hours per week possible.
  • Possible weekend or off-shift support as necessary.
  • Travel: 5% domestic and international.

Compensation

  • USD 71,100 - 106,600 per year (competitive base salary; pay may vary based on variables including geographic location and work experience).
