Job Description

Kilnstone Talent Solutions is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer focused on robotic welding for an onsite role in Alexandria, MN or Sauk Centre, MN. This position supports robotic welding programming, weld process development, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement across manufacturing workflows.

Role Overview

This hands-on Manufacturing Engineer role emphasizes programming and optimizing ABB or FANUC robotic welding systems, developing weld parameters, improving weld quality, and helping reduce cycle times and manufacturing variation. The position operates in a production environment and works closely with production, quality, engineering, and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program and optimize ABB or FANUC robotic welding systems
  • Develop and optimize weld parameters including voltage, amperage, travel speed, wire feed speed, and shielding gas
  • Troubleshoot robotic welding issues such as porosity, distortion, spatter, lack of fusion, and fit-up
  • Improve manufacturing processes to increase weld quality, cycle times, and production efficiency
  • Support weld sequencing, fixtures, process documentation, and new equipment or automation projects
  • Conduct root-cause analysis and drive continuous-improvement efforts
  • Partner with production, quality, engineering, and operations teams to support execution
  • Create work instructions and support production training

Required Qualifications

  • Approximately 3–7 years of manufacturing engineering, process engineering, welding engineering, or related experience preferred
  • Hands-on robotic welding/process development experience, including ABB OR FANUC robotic welding programming
  • Manufacturing or metal-fabrication background
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, weld symbols, and GD&T
  • Degree preferred, but not required if hands-on experience is strong
  • Ability to work onsite in Alexandria or Sauk Centre, Minnesota

Schedule and Work Details

  • Monday–Friday schedule, days
  • Minimal overtime
  • Minimal travel
  • No regular on-call requirement
  • Work location: In person

Compensation and Benefits

Pay: USD 100,000 to 115,000 per year.
