Integrated Technology Engineering is a small Rochester, Minnesota based firm specializing in electrical, mechanical, and control system engineering. Our services include electrical design, mechanical design, systems integration, industrial automation, and PLC and HMI programming. We are seeking an Electrical Engineer or Electrical Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate is energetic, independent, self-motivated, action-oriented, and client-focused. The role requires quickly grasping new concepts, working independently, effective time management, and a willingness to develop new skills and software. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and cloud-based tools such as Microsoft Teams and SharePoint is expected.
Primary Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical design tasks for industrial and municipal electrical and control systems, including evaluating and selecting components such as panelboards, switchgear, motor control centers, variable frequency drives, lighting, and related items.
- Determine electrical system configuration and optimize arrangements accordingly.
- Review, evaluate, and select instrumentation and control components including sensors and control devices, and determine appropriate control system configurations.
- Develop schematic, layout, and plan drawings for electrical and instrumentation and control systems.
- Prepare specifications for electrical and instrumentation and control systems.
- Utilize AutoCAD to create electrical drawings such as one-lines, schematics, and plan layouts; prior experience with industrial electrical systems is preferred.
- Apply knowledge of the National Electrical Code to interpret, understand, and apply codes and standards.
Other Responsibilities
- Perform engineering analysis of new or existing electrical systems.
- Design and construct industrial control panels, including drafting, schematic design, component selection, panel layout, and panel wiring.
- Work with instrumentation and sensors for component selection, calibration and configuration, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Provide AutoCAD support for control panel design and other engineering projects.
- Serve as a technical resource to clients, employees, and other engineering disciplines.
Education and Qualifications
Required: an associate or bachelorβs degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Electronics, Industrial Controls, Electrician, or a related field. Preferred: a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, with completion of the Engineer-In-Training (EIT) exam. Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is desirable but not required.
Experience
Electrical design experience of at least 2 years is required.

Willingness to travel up to 25 percent is required.
