Job Description
The Mechanical Engineer (Manifolds/Liquid Cooling) will serve as a primary subject-matter expert for CFD and FEA analysis supporting fluid flow and pipe stress assessment, along with airflow, thermal, and structural evaluation across Tate Access Floors Inc’s data center infrastructure product portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary SME for CFD and FEA analysis across relevant product platforms.
- Run and interpret CFD studies for airflow distribution, pressure drop, thermal performance, and heat rejection for cooling and fluid manifolds, Air Handling Units (AHUs), and related data center airflow and thermal management components.
- Perform FEA simulations to assess structural integrity, vibration, fatigue, and thermal stress, and to support material and thickness optimization for manufacturability and cost.
- Develop, validate, and maintain analysis methodologies, assumptions, and best practices.
- Collaborate with mechanical design engineers from concept through production release, using simulation outputs to guide product architecture and design decisions.
- Validate designs against industry standards and internal performance criteria.
- Provide engineering analysis support for customer-specific applications and bids.
- Support Sales Engineering with performance validation, custom configurations, technical responses, and customer presentations.
- Translate complex simulation results into clear, customer-ready insights.
- Support correlation between simulation results and analytical or physical test results.
- Assist with prototype testing plans and instrumentation strategies, and identify gaps between analytical predictions and real-world performance to drive improvements.
- Standardize CFD/FEA workflows, templates, and documentation.
- Mentor junior engineers and cross-functional teams on simulation fundamentals.
- Stay current with emerging data center cooling technologies and analysis techniques.
- Maintain compliance with the Code of Conduct and related Policies, including the Kingspan Group Compliance Policy and the Product Compliance Policy, and ensure duties align with compliance goals, laws, regulations, and market demands.
- Raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to a supervisor, manager, leadership team member, or via the confidential whistle blower service.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (required).
- Hands-on, practical experience with CFD and FEA tools applied to HVAC and thermal-fluid systems for Data Centers or a related industry.
- Strong understanding of fluid dynamics and heat transfer, HVAC systems and airflow management, and structural mechanics and materials.
- Proven ability to perform end-to-end simulations independently, from setup through interpretation.

Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: USD 110,000–130,000 per year

Preferred Experience
- Experience in data center infrastructure, liquid cooling, and HVAC equipment
- Familiarity with ASHRAE guidelines related to data centers
- Experience supporting customer-facing engineering or pre-sales efforts
- Master’s or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering with a Thermal/Fluids or Structural focus
