Process Engineer
Job Description
4D Systems is seeking a Process Engineer to join its Auburn Hills, Michigan operations. The role centers on designing and delivering process-driven sealant and adhesive application solutions for FANUC America customers, with a focus on process analyses, feasibility studies, and support for quotations and system launches. The position combines hands-on automation work with customer-facing responsibilities, all performed onsite.

Responsibilities
- Conduct process evaluations, feasibility studies, and proposal support prior to quotation releases
- Design and implement processes using robotics across a broad range of applicator products
- Lead process execution after order receipt
- Perform customer demonstrations and develop clear analyses and presentation materials based on demonstration results
- Serve as the primary customer contact during system launches
- Maintain reliable and consistent attendance
Requirements
- Strong process knowledge to ensure feasible, workable solutions
- Solid problem-solving abilities with the capacity to identify root causes and propose alternatives
- Organized, capable of juggling multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer satisfaction
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or related technical engineering discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
- Minimum two years of experience with sealant and adhesive application equipment
- Experience with pumping and fluid delivery/control equipment
- Ability to stand and walk extensively during execution activities
- Proper use of hand tools
- Good visual acuity, hearing, and speech
- Exposure to PVC sealers and two-component adhesives
- Willingness to work occasional overtime to meet deadlines
- Up to 80% travel is required
- Driver's license required

Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
Experience
- Sealant and Adhesive Application & equipment: 2 years (Required)
- Pumping and fluid delivery/control equipment: 1 year (Preferred)

- Driver's License (Required)

- Up to 80% travel required
