Process Mechanical Engineer
Job Description
The Process Mechanical Engineer will contribute to the design of water and wastewater facilities at Garver’s College Station Water Design Center, focusing on mechanical systems and related infrastructure. This onsite role in College Station, Texas involves calculations, hydraulic modeling, equipment selection, and coordination with vendors and regulatory agencies, with occasional site work.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize treatment processes for water and wastewater facilities
- Assess and select process equipment for water and wastewater systems, guiding implementation
- Plan pump stations and determine suitable pump selections
- Layout chemical storage and feed systems
- Configure blower systems and perform sizing calculations
- Choose appropriate mechanical equipment for projects
- Create process flow diagrams (PFDs)
- Develop piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
- Prepare project specifications and contract documents
- Provide support during construction phases
- Oversee the development of construction drawings and 3D models
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, chemical, mechanical, or biosystems/agricultural engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- Minimum of five years of direct experience designing lift stations, booster pump stations, chemical feed, and water or wastewater treatment facilities
- Experience with hydraulic modeling software, including Visual Hydraulics
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)

Salary
Annual compensation ranges from USD 93,641 to 132,412, depending on experience and qualifications.
