Process Mechanical Engineer

This Senior Process Mechanical Engineer position supports process development for the Pulp & Paper industry with Genesis Technical Staffing. The role is based in Appleton, WI and focuses on executing process designs, evaluating data, and applying engineering judgment to ensure feasible and commercially implementable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Execute process designs primarily within the consumer products industry.
• Investigate and analyze data to support process design decisions that align with company, client, and project objectives.
• Apply engineering theory in practical applications to evaluate design feasibility.
• Identify potential process upsets and malfunctions and incorporate appropriate remediations.
• Apply commercially available process technologies to support process execution.
• Use professional ethics by applying relevant codes and standards and maintaining appropriate interactions with clients.

Requirements

• B.S. in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in the Pulp & Paper industry is preferred.
• Experience leading or executing process designs documented through engineering calculations and standard deliverables, including PFDs, P&IDs, general arrangement drawings, specifications, design basis, and associated lists.
• Knowledge of typical chemicals and fluids used in consumer products applications, including interactions with materials of construction and related design considerations.
• Fluency with AutoCAD and Fathom.
• Understanding of fluid control valves and instrumentation.
• Familiarity with specification and sizing of pumps, heat exchangers, vessels, and other process equipment.
• Customer relationship skills and experience managing client interactions.
• Preferably experience with on-site, in-plant, and startup activities.
