Product Engineer II

York, PA (onsite) role with Johnson Controls and a competitive salary range of $70,000 to $95,000 per year. The position includes a competitive benefits package, and you will contribute to the BE, AirSide Engineering Team with ownership of all aspects and execution of AHU design and application.

What you’ll do

• Perform a full range of engineering work under general supervision, following defined processes and work instructions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to determine best techniques, procedures, and theories for analysis, design, and research of HVAC mechanical equipment and components.
• Apply advanced statistical analysis and other quality principles to solve problems and support engineering decisions.
• Define, plan, and promote your own project activities, with a focus on driving results across departments.
• Provide technical direction to designers and technicians on specific assignments and mentor less experienced engineers.
• Analyze product design requirements and recommend solutions, promoting Design for Manufacturability to simplify complex specifications into clear design requirements.
• Complete detailed design work for features or products.
• Prepare, review, and coordinate release of documentation supporting AHU component design and application.
• Write specifications for features or products and participate in design reviews to support technical activities.
• Report status of your work and junior members’ work to the project team.
• Maintain strong written and verbal communication skills and adhere to the Company’s Code of Conduct and Business Ethics.

What you bring

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (ABET accredited) or related science (or equivalent).
• Understanding of business principles for the business unit.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
• AutoCAD / Inventor experience is beneficial.
• Minimal travel is required, with occasional overnight stays.

Compensation and hiring process

Hiring salary range: $70,000 - $95,000. Final salary is determined based on education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Exceptional candidates may have skills and experiences that exceed the typical profile.
